THE FIGS

February 14 – March 16, 2025
By Doug Robinson
Directed by Randy Baker

A fig-obsessed king’s bizarre contest sets off a whirlwind adventure featuring quirky farmers, a lovesick innkeeper, and a chaotic storyteller. The Figs is a complex fable that deconstructs traditional storytelling with self-aware humor, queer characters, and unexpected twists.

THE FIGS will be an immersive experience, allowing audience to live in the world of the play and move throughout our unique 2-level performance space.

What this actually means: The majority of the Two-and-a-half-hour play (2:15 + 15 minute intermission) is a seated experience. There are two short scenes near the start of the play that involve standing and walking through the venue. Seating, and elevator access will be made available for those who need it. Please feel free to reach out to us at info@rorschachtheatre.com if you have more specific questions regarding seating or accessibility needs.

Age Recommendation: The play is recommended for ages 13 and up for frequent adult language and occasional bloody violence.

“Equal parts beguiling and befuddling… genuinely breathtaking”

PRESS

“The Figs is an adventurous romp through a bizarre world. Each layer unravels to reveal something unexpected… After all, a fig is not a fruit, but a flower.”
“The Figs is an undeniably fun ride. It is a show brimming with heart, humor, and a clear passion for storytelling. An entertaining and visually inventive theatrical experience—Rorschach reminds the audience that the joy of storytelling is an art form.”
